FORTNITE SEASON 5 MAP - UPDATE ONE: Fortnite season 5 is now live and the new Battle Royale map is available to play on.
The Fortnite season 5 map brings with it a number of new POIs - Paradise Palms, Lazy Links and the new Desert locale.
But the addition of these new Fortnite season 5 points of interest mean other Battle Royale settings have now disappeared.
The Fortnite POIs that left the map at the start of Fortnite season 5 are: Anarchy Acres, Moisty Mire and the football/soccer stadium.
One of the new locations in Paradise Palms is a kart racing track that Fortnite players can race and drift the new ATMs around.
Fortnite season 5 has also added new rifts that Battle Royale players can jump into.
These rifts appear at random, and when you step into them they transport you into a small hole that opens up in the sky.
Your Fortnite character then emerges from that, hurtling towards the ground as you would do when you jump out of the Battle Bus.
Fortnite season 5 map changes - Paradise Palms, Lazy Links and Desert locations added
ORIGINAL: Fortnite season 5 is starting today and the big Battle Royale update will bring with it brand new map locations.
Epic Games has revealed today that the new Paradise Palms, Lazy Links and Desert points of interest will be added with Fortnite season 5.
A number of unnamed points of interest have also appeared across the Fortnite Battle Royale map.
A number of storm circles on the Fortnite season 5 map will also shift in random directions as the storm closes in.
It will then move and shrink to the new location on the Fortnite Battle Royale map.
It was previously rumoured that Fortnite season 5 would kick off with a new map with featured settings from bygone eras.
This Fortnite season 5 theory gained more weight after cracks started appearing in the Battle Royale sky following the rocket launch.
It had been rumoured that Fortnite season 5 would have a Wild West setting, an Ancient Egypt setting and one for the Persian empire.
The Fortnite season 5 map changes were revealed in the patch notes published today by Epic Games.

Fortnite Battle Royale players will be able to check out these map changes once servers come back online.

Fortnite servers went down at 9am BST, which is 4am ET and 1am PT.
Fortnite servers - if all goes to plan - tend to go be down for between one and a half to three hours.
So, hopefully Fortnite players in the UK will be able to jump in and play Fortnite season 5 by midday today.
