Interstate 5 will remain closed through Saturday, California Department of Transportation officials announced Friday.

"We are going to re-evaluate it Sunday but I don't have a time," Caltrans spokeswoman Denise Yergenson said.

She said there is a chance the freeway could re-open Sunday. The interstate has been closed in both directions since Wednesday afternoon, the day the fire started.

"The fire is burning on both sides of the highway and is still very unpredictable," Yergenson said.
