Afghanistan's ace spinner Rashid Khan's father passed away on Sunday. The mystery spinner, who has been ruling cricket world with his all-round displays for a while now, took to Twitter to post a heart-breaking message and inform his fans about the loss. The cricket fraternity sent out their condolences after learning about the tragic incident. 

"Today I lost the most important person in my life,father-the everlasting candle.Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Now I know why u always asked me to be strong,bcz u knew that today I would need the strength to bear your loss.Will be always in my miss u #plztalktomeOnce," Rashid wrote on Twitter. 

Rashid's Afghanistan teammate Mohammad Nabi also sent out his condolences. "With deep sorrow I have been informed that Afghanistan National Cricket team player and my dear friend, Rashid khan's father passed away. I would like to express my deep condolences to Rashid khan and his family. May Allah award his father the Jannah.@rashidkhan_19," he wrote on Twitter.

Cricket fraternity express condolences:

Rashid is currently plying his trade for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League and has been dazzling in the tournament with impressive performances both with the bat and the ball. He has played three games so far for the franchise picking up five wickets and scoring 21 runs. 

Rashid has established himself as one of the best T20 players in the last few years and has plied his trade around the globe in a number of leagues. He is also an integral part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad set up in the Indian Premier League. He was retained ahead of the IPL 2019 auctions by the franchise and will turn up for them next year. 

Rashid has so far played 52 ODIs and 35 T20Is for Afghanistan picking up 118 and 64 wickets respectively in the two formats. He has also played a solitary Test match for Afghanistan.
