Agartala: BJP President Amit Shah claimed that the BJP will win more than 23 seats in West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Addressing a gathering in Agartala, Shah said that people in Bengal are fed up of the alliance of Congress and Trinamool Congress.
The BJP and TMC have been at loggerheads over the issue of Rath Yatra after CM Mamata Banerjee barred the party from holding Rath Yatra. Taking a dig at the saffron party, Banerjee had called the 'Rath Yatra', a 'Danga Yatra'.
Under Modi-Shah combine, the BJP-led North-East Democratic Alliance has made inroads in the Northeast region and lots of development projects have been started by the Centre. The North-East Democratic Alliance or NEDA is a political coalition which has been stitched by uniting non-Congress parties in the northeast.
“In North-East, all 8 governments have gone out of Congress’ hands and are now with the NDA. We’re confident of winning more than 21 seats in North-East. There is a wave in favour of Narendra Modi ji in this region,” Shah further added.
The BJP president also attacked the Congress and said that they are desperate to come to power by wearing a fake mass of coalition. Addressing a press conference here, Shah said that the so-called Mahagathbandhan formed by the opposition parties has no leader, no policies, no vision and no unity and their sole motive is to gain power against PM Modi.
Shah further expressed confidence that the BJP and its 40 allies would do much better in 2019 compared to 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
